christianity was always science.
just me stream of conscious blogging while my bf watches loud comedy. its how I cope.

joe dispenza— self-proclaimed brain rewirer extraordinaire— built a world from "if you change your thoughts, you change your life." and this just in hot off the presses jesus was onto the same thing two thousand years ago and ever since less the science and neuro-chemicals. neuroscience, christ-consciousness, and rewiring your brain are all pointing to the same truth:
you’re/we're capable of transformation, but it takes work.
step 1: rewire your brain, just like jesus said joe’s big on the idea that if you want to change, you’ve got to learn something new, reinforce it, and repeat until your brain says, “oh, this is who we are now? cool.” jesus? same vibe. he was all about “renewing your mind” (romans 12:2), just without the brain scans and ted talk energy.
joe says you need to ditch everything that reinforces who you think you are—your routines, your environment, toxic friends/job. jesus said it differently: leave your old self behind (ephesians 4:22) and step into a new you, one that’s about love, grace, and not flipping tables at minor inconveniences. the bottom line? stop living in your greatest hits album and start remixing your future self. bruh its not that serious. perseverating on the problems actually makes them worse (climate change). if you gotta perseverate, do that shit on the solutions. its harder to do that, but i believe in you. i mean that.
step 2: envision the life you want this is where joe gets juicy. juicy joe. he says to focus on the experience you want to have— live it in your brain like you’re starring in your own oscar-worthy biopic. jesus had a similar take: “ask, and it will be given to you” (matthew 7:7). Christ wasn’t talking about asking for a new camel or a stack of bitcoin. he was talking about aligning your thoughts, actions, and faith with "god’s plan." What is gods plan? Drake said it best. and he's not cancelled change my mind but "focusing on things above" for one thing. fear not is in the bible like >70x. don't focus on the fear.
christ-consciousness is about living with a crystal-clear vision of love and purpose, even when your life feels like a chaotic mess. joe? he mixes it with our brain chemistry.
step 3: align behaviors with intentions joe says the magic happens when your actions match your intentions. basically, you can’t just think about being a good person— you actually have to, you know, do it. and when you do your brain gives you a little chemical high-five way to go you!!! with a hit of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin.
jesus wasn’t messing around. “faith without works is dead” (james 2:26). you can’t just sit in your recliner thinking loving thoughts while being a jerk to your barista or your friend or your kid or your wife. it’s about doing the thing, whether that’s being kind, forgiving, or resisting the urge to honk your horn on gallatin road the danger noodle of nashville.
step 4: from knowledge to experience to wisdom joe says: transformation isn’t just knowing stuff; it’s about doing it then becoming it. it’s like upgrading from a beginner to an expert, except instead of slaying romantasy dragons, you’re slaying your self-sabotaging tendencies. and contributing to human evolution. that discussion is for deeper wormhole digging for another time, but its true. and anyway if we're honest, like brutally, most of us care about our own lives more than the lives of humanity (be so for real right now, we could all do better. THIS IS NOT A GUILT TRIP, ITS A SELF AWARENESS TRIP, my favorite kind next to AMALFI COAST trips).
jesus was on the same wavelength. he taught through parables (knowledge), invited people to follow him (experience), and then said, “go and make disciples” (wisdom). it’s the ultimate divine masterclass in becoming your best self.
step 5: program yourself for joy (or suffering) here’s where joe drops the existential bomb: your brain doesn’t care if you program it for joy or misery— it’ll just follow whatever script you give it. if you’re constantly feeding your brain negativity, guess what? you’re gonna get more negativity. you've created a monster. we all have. watching bad TV late at night is a one way ticket to programming your brain with a lack of faith in humanity. our brain is SO susceptible to receive right before bed. and we all do it!! well some of us don't, and those people are happier and healthier. more at peace. if you align with love, compassion, and purpose, your life starts to reflect that. sound familiar? it’s like paul was whispering in our joe’s ear “you reap what you sow” (galatians 6:7).
this is where neuroscience meets sanctification. whether you call it neuroplasticity or spiritual growth, you’re shaping yourself into a person who doesn’t have to fake being happy— you just are. living bliss-ipline.
christ-consciousness + science = plot twist christ-consciousness and joe’s method are basically soul siblings. christ invites us to transcend the ego, live in divine love, and co-create with god. joe teaches us to rewire our brain and unify our mind, body, and soul. different language, same vibe.
both are about transformation—becoming someone freer, more joyful, and less likely to yell at customer service over a late amazon delivery. less likely to buy shit on amazon at all rly except obscure vacuum parts don't judge me.
takeaway: stop doomscrolling and watching TV late at night. start catching that they way you perceive the world is your experience of it and THAT WAS PROGRAMMED. these little victories (example: why do I care that my friends know I have credit card debt? oh, it means I am unstable and they can't trust me and my chemical body is comfortable in this pattern so I stay in debt because I fear change even if that change is god-given goodness). god is always whispering, you don't have to live like this THROUGH your discomforts. find your triggers. anything you rub up against that pisses you off, scares you, hurts you, is a CLEAR and LOUD message from god and your own consciousness. every time you recognize these behaviors or thoughts, you win and your body wins and humanity wins and it gets easier. so much easier.
what's the next move? start rewiring. whether you’re meditating on joe’s future-self exercises or praying through christ’s teachings, the goal is the same: program yourself for the life you actually want. because that is the life God wants for you, too. promise. transformation isn’t some one-and-done enlightenment moment—it’s a daily grind of aligning your thoughts, actions, and soul with love and purpose.
seriously, stop waiting for life to happen to you. whether it’s god’s plan, your brain’s programming, or some cosmic algorithm, we've got work to do. so lfg.
